The idol is shown to be carrying a cooking pot that signifies the fact that the deity is the goddess of sustenance and prosperity.

Laat Bhairava

Laat Bhairava is an image of Bhairava carved on a pillar that is encased in copper and is covered with vermilion. Bhairava basically refers to the Hindu deity Lord Shiva. It is believed that this pillar stood in the premises of a Hindu temple. Though the temple was destroyed the pillar was left intact.

Sankata Devi Temple

The Sankata Devi temple is a popular Hindu temple. This is one temple that one must visit during ones temple tours to Varanasi, India. The presiding deity is known as Sankata Devi the goddess who averts disasters. This ancient temple is located on the Sankata Ghat in Varanasi, India.
